MCP server: your AI assistant, connected to your leads
Kubo CRM has its own MCP server, the open standard AI assistants use to work with other tools. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or whichever you use, and ask it about your leads or have it move them, without opening the app.
You: Which new leads are still unassigned?
- Searched Kubo CRM for unassigned leads
- Your AI assistant:
You have 2 new unassigned leads:
- Emily Carter · Bright Smile Dental$2,400New
- David Nolan · Nolan Auto Repair$650New
Emily would like you to come and see the waiting room this week. Shall I assign it to Anna?
You: Yes, assign it to Anna.
- Assigned Emily Carter in Kubo CRM
- Your AI assistant:
Done: Emily Carter is now assigned to Anna, who has been notified.
What you can ask
- “Which new leads are still unassigned?”
- “What does Anna have on today?”
- “How many did we win last month, and for how much in total?”
- “Add Peter Gale from Gale Architects: he called asking for a quote on a kitchen.”
- “Move Mark Ortiz to Proposal sent and add a note: I sent him the quote on Monday.”
What it can do, and what it can’t
- Search leads with the list’s filters —status, owner, source, tag, dates or next step— and see each lead’s full record, with its custom fields.
- Create leads, change their details and add notes.
- Change a lead’s status and assign it to someone on your team.
- Look up your statuses, tags, sources and custom fields, and who’s on the team, so it knows where it can move each lead and who to assign it to.
- What it can’t do: delete. There’s no action to delete leads, not even with a key that can write.
How to connect it
Create a key
In Kubo CRM, under Integrations › API and MCP, the account owner creates a key: read-only or read and write, with whatever expiry they choose. It’s shown in full only once.
Add the server to your assistant
Paste the MCP server address and the key into your assistant’s settings. The guide, with exactly what to paste, is inside Kubo CRM.
Start asking
From then on, your assistant sees your leads and does what the key allows. If you stop using it, revoke it and it stops working immediately.
What your assistant does counts as done in the app
A lead your assistant creates alerts your team in Slack, Teams or Telegram and goes out to Zapier, Make or n8n, if you’ve set them up, just like one that comes in from your website. If it assigns a lead, that person gets their alert in Kubo CRM; if it moves one to Won or Lost, its next step in the schedule is cancelled.
On the lead’s record, those changes show as made by the system and, in the activity log, with the name of the key that made them.
Your leads, under your control
- Only the account owner creates and revokes keys, and revoking one cuts off access at once.
- With a read-only key, your assistant doesn’t even see the actions that write.
- Each company, isolated: a key only reaches its own company’s leads.
- What someone types into a form reaches your assistant marked as third-party data, with a warning that it isn’t instructions.
- What it reads is logged by the hour in the activity log: how many leads, never which ones.
Frequently asked questions
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol: an open standard AI assistants use to connect to other tools. With it, your assistant sees Kubo CRM as a set of actions —search leads, create one, move it— and uses them when you ask.
Which assistants can I connect?
With the server address and a Kubo CRM key, those that support remote MCP servers with a key, such as Claude Code or Cursor. In Claude.ai and ChatGPT you sign in with your Kubo CRM account, without copying any key: the account owner connects it, with two-step verification, and that connection only reads your leads.
Which plan is it on?
Pro, together with the API: the same key works for both. It doesn’t count toward your plan’s integrations. See pricing.
Can it delete my leads?
No. There’s no action to delete leads, not even with a read-and-write key.
What if a lead contains hidden instructions?
Whatever someone types into a form reaches your assistant marked as third-party data, with a warning that it isn’t instructions. Even so, if you only want to ask questions, use a read-only key: with it, your assistant can’t change anything.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You paste an address and a key into your assistant’s settings, following the guide Kubo CRM gives you.
